Celebrate The Dream

Quotes

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

Your dreams

I have a dream that one day... The people of our great county will finally put aside our difference in color, race, and sexual orientation. I dream that we will be able to stand up as a nation brought together and bring our country out of the dark place it has been for so long. --T. Goldstein of Boulder City, NV

On August 28, 1963, the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., a modern-day Founding Father, delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech.

On August 28th, 2010, the 47th anniversary of King’s historic proclamation, our coalition of artists, faith leaders and community organizations erected a 4-story sculpture to honor Dr. King’s Dream and his life-long fight for social justice.

Our event also countered far-right fearmonger Glenn Beck’s attempt to exploit that legacy for his own fame, profit and narrow political agenda.

We just want to say thanks to our partners and everyone else who pitched in with money or time to make this amazing event happen.

Building off our success this summer, let us continue to defend King’s dream from those who would distort and undermine it.
